About

Michael J. Dienberg, DDS

Introducing Dr. Michael J. Dienberg, DDS, a seasoned dentist with a rich and varied background. After completing his dental education at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, Dr. Dienberg pursued advanced hospital-based training at UAMS (University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences) and ACH (Arkansas Children’s Hospital).

During his hospital training and clinical practice, he had the exceptional opportunity to work alongside world-class practitioners in various pediatric specialties, refining his surgical and clinical skills on patients of all ages. From wisdom teeth extractions to infant lingual and labial frenectomy (tongue-tie and lip-tie releases), he performed a wide range of procedures in diverse settings, including inpatient, ambulatory/outpatient, and operating rooms, all while providing sedation to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Beginning his career at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, AR, Dr. Dienberg served as both a hospital dentist and faculty for UAMS and University of Tennessee dental residents. Specializing in treating patients with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies, he earned certification in providing NasoAlveolar Molding (NAM) for infants, garnering invaluable experience and recognition for his dedication to the Arkansas community.

With extensive experience, Dr. Dienberg later moved to the Pacific Northwest (PNW), where he assumed the role of Hospital Site Director for Adult Hospital Dentistry Residency at OHSU (Oregon Health & Science University). Currently, he holds a clinical faculty position at OHSU’s Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery Department, actively participating in the care of head and neck cancer patients. He maintains privileges at various hospitals in the region, including OHSU, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and Providence Hospitals (Hood River, Portland and St. Vincents).

Dr. Dienberg’s commitment to patient care extends to treating individuals with craniofacial anomalies, cleft lip palate, special needs, and medically complex conditions, tailoring his approach to meet their unique needs.

Licensed in Washington State, Oregon, Colorado, and Wisconsin, Dr. Dienberg is trained and certified in IV Moderate Sedation in both Oregon and Washington, offering traveling IV Sedation and oral surgery services for patient convenience. Additionally, he operates a local office in Hood River, providing CO2 soft tissue laser frenectomy procedures for tongue-tie and lip-tie across all age groups, with a focus on serving the Columbia River Gorge community.

Dr. Dienberg only discovered his own undiagnosed tongue and lip-tie during dental school. Undergoing both releases significantly improved his life. Recently, when his newborn son faced nursing issues due to the same condition, Dr. Dienberg performed a frenectomy on him, experiencing firsthand the transformative impact it can have.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Dienberg enjoys an active lifestyle in the Columbia River Gorge, participating in snowboarding, hiking, biking, and running activities. He values quality time spent with his wife and three children, maintaining a fulfilling balance between his personal and professional life.
